Leadership and Development Sessions (LDS)
GOAL
The goal of the LDS is to enhance communication skills, increase self-awareness, refine decision making and strategic planning skills, and gain or improve mentoring and coaching skills. As these goals are met leaders will better prepare to receive and deliver feedback, lead effectively in the face of conflict, manage organizational politics and create opportunities for self-reflection.
Sessions
We utilize Survey Monkey via email prior to sessions to ascertain desired personal goals and paper survey at the end of each day to review effectiveness of sessions.
Session times may vary and will include the following:
o Ice Breakers
o Break- Out Sessions
o Presentations of Information
o Pre and post survey
o Tools for Success
o Registration Refreshments
o Optional Paint and Grow Sessions
Crucial Conversations- "Crucial" conversations are interpersonal exchanges at work or at home that we dread having but know we cannot avoid. This session is based off the New York Times Best Seller that teaches techniques that are geared toward getting people to lower their defenses, creating mutual respect and understanding, increasing emotional safety, and encouraging freedom of expression.
Sensitivity Training- Teaching people how to be empathetic and flexible. Sensitivity training is about making people understand about themselves and others reasonably, which is done by developing in them social sensitivity and behavioral flexibility.
Conflict Resolution- This session allows for participants to practice a way for two or more parties to find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among them. The disagreement may be personal, financial, political, or emotional.
Managing Millennials- A workshop on ways to connect with members of the Millennial generation, and provide them with personal development opportunities
Failure is the Cusp of Growth- This session expands on taking risk and interactively encourages the participants to make a step towards a desire, dream or plan.
Brainstorming Strategies- everyone hates meetings that have s specific need but yields no results. This session teaches leader how to get the best out of staff and organization meetings.
Employee Buy In- These sessions are geared towards teaching leaders to get staff to buy into policies and procedures. It teaches techniques to utilize that will get the staff moral boosted and more engaged with an organization or with various situations.
Employee Engagement- These sessions are geared towards teaching staff to buy into policies and procedures and understanding the importance of a message that has been designated by leadership.
Implicit Bias- refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. (kirwaninstitute.osu.edu/research/understanding-implicit-bias/)
Leadership and Development Retreats:
Sessions can be completed in one hour increments
One, two and three day retreats can include multiple sessions and breakout workshops.
o Session can be in town or out of town
o Sessions can be at designated locations
o Sessions can be themed
o Sessions can include group relaxation techniques

This is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training Emergency Response Teams and other medical and military personnel. This skill can be utilized with adults and kids in order for them to see the possible effects of their actions. Makeup and other materials would be used to simulate injuries that could be gory and gruesome.
Being A Better Student- Working with scholars to help them maximize the time spent learning by seeking out volunteer and intern potentials. This session also allows for students to improve work and study habits.
